Settlement

Once approved, the amount is credited to your account or paid directly to the hospital or garage. If a claim is rejected unfairly, we file a representation or escalate to the IRDAI Ombudsman.

FAQ

Claim questions, answered

How quickly should I report a claim?
As soon as you can — ideally within 24 hours for motor and fire claims, and within 48 hours for health claims, or as your policy wording requires. Delayed reporting is the single most common cause of claim disputes.
What is a cashless claim?
In a cashless claim the insurer settles the bill directly with the hospital or garage, so you don't pay upfront except for excluded items. For planned hospitalizations we usually get pre-authorization within 2–4 hours.
What if my claim is rejected?
Most rejections come from documentation gaps, late reporting or a genuine policy exclusion. We review the rejection letter, identify the cause, and where the rejection is contestable we file a representation or escalate to the IRDAI Ombudsman.
How long does claim settlement take?
Motor claims typically 7–15 days. Health cashless approval 2–6 hours; health reimbursement 15–30 days. Fire and marine claims 30–90 days depending on the surveyor's report. We follow up at every stage.
Do I lose my No Claim Bonus after a claim?
For motor insurance, usually yes — a claim resets your NCB at renewal. An NCB Protection add-on lets you make a limited number of claims without losing the bonus; we'll tell you whether the extra premium is worth it in your case.
